A Call to Repentance: Archbishop Kasujja Presides Over Ash Wednesday Service

The Buganda Royal Institute of Business and Technical Education-Mengo was filled with reverence and contemplation on Ash Wednesday as Archbishop Augustine Kasujja led the solemn service. This marked the beginning of Lent, a 40-day period of fasting, prayer, and repentance observed by Christians worldwide.

Distinguished guests in attendance included Oweek. Chotilda Nakate Kikomeko, Kabaka’s Minister for Social Services and Office of the Nnabagereka, Dr. Kasozi Saturninus, Borad Chairperson, and Oweek. Joseph Balikuddembe Ssenkusu, Principal of Buganda Royal Institute. Members of Management, staff, and students also gathered for the occasion.

As the congregation prayed together, they received ashes on their foreheads, a poignant reminder of human mortality and the need for humility. Archbishop Kasujja delivered a powerful sermon, emphasizing repentance, self-discipline, and service to others.

He encouraged the students and staff to harness the Lenten season for spiritual renewal, introspection, and communal growth. Oweek. Chotilda Nakate Kikomeko expressed heartfelt gratitude for the Archbishop’s presence, noting that such moments fortify the faith and moral values of the Buganda Royal community.

Oweek. Balikuddembe, on behalf of Management, extended sincere appreciation to the Archbishop for prioritizing Buganda Royal Institute. He observed that the Archbishop’s presence is a testament to the trust and love for the youth.

The Principal implored staff and students to reflect on the Archbishop’s preaching in their service to humanity. As millions of Christians observed Ash Wednesday, the service at Buganda Royal Institute underscored the significance of faith, unity, and spiritual reflection within the academic community.
