Finalists got back to schools and higher institutions of learning after government announced the resumption of studies on 15th October, after sitting home for almost seven months due to covid-19 which led to total lock down.
Buganda Royal Institute opened as the government announced and students resumed their studies closely following covid SOPs of temperature check before entry into the Usntitute/class, wearing masks, social distancing and sanitizing/regular hand washing.
Buganda Royal Academic Registrar Dr.Walusimbi Leonard says the institute managed to cope with the situation amidst covid and they have tried as much as possible to observe covid-19 guidelines.
“Students have been sitting two meters apart, wearing their masks and sanitizing before entering lecture rooms because we all know how dangerous the virus is and life is the first priority as far as this situation is concerned.”Walusimbi said.
He added that students have studied for one month since resumption of schools. This made them to double the teaching time to enable lecturers fully complete the the syllabi and he’s sure students were able to answer both internal and external exams.
Dr. Walusimbi says space has been enough since some students were at home and as such, the institute has not faced any challenge as far as space is concerned. Therefore it has been so easy to observe social distancing while in lectures and during exams both internal and extetnal.
